How does tourmaline help in getting clothes clean?

The dark grey mineral pellets are tourmaline and is a naturally occurring mineral. Tourmaline increases the efficiency of the washing power of the white pellets and acts as a natural disinfectant due to its behaviour in water. It also reduces the surface tension of the water, making the washing water ‘wetter’ and therefore better able to penetrate clothes fibres for better cleaning.

The Laundry 'Egg' itself aids the process from mechanical action i.e. impacting the fibres and breaking down the dirt particles and also helps to soften clothing fibres.
